Encryption of HD
In the past few
years customers have been able to pull in stations in High Definition through
our cable system. We have been informed by the company that supplies our
programming that these channels along with the music channels will be encrypted
beginning in the next few weeks. This means unless you have the HD package or
the tier that the channel is carried on in our system, you will no longer
receive it. You have not been paying for these stations and were only getting
them because they were basically slipping through. If you would like to order
the HD package please call our office.

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month
We now live in a world that is more connected than ever before. The Internet touches almost all aspects of everyone’s daily life, whether we realize it or not. We connect with friends and family, conduct business and banking online and rely on many services, like transportation and electricity, that are supported with online systems. Technology has spearheaded advancements in healthcare, education, business, music, government, and many other industries. As technology advances, our lives become easier and more connected. However, being constantly connected brings increased risk of theft, fraud, and abuse. No country, industry, community, or individual is immune to cyber risks. As a nation, we face constant cyber threats against our critical infrastructure and economy. As individuals, cybersecurity risks can threaten our finances, identity, and privacy. Since our way of life depends on critical infrastructure and the digital technology that operates it, cybersecurity is one of our country’s most important national security priorities, and we each have a role to play—cybersecurity is a shared responsibility. We have been made aware of several HTC customers who have received emails that appear to come from HTC or INS. They state that they have reached the storage limit for their mailbox and that they can restore access by clicking and updating the account. THIS EMAIL DID NOT COME FROM HTC. DO NOT RESPOND. Never open email that seems questionable.
